BATTLE FOR THE SOULS
WINNING A BATTLE HAS MANY COMPONENTS
We know that success in spiritual battle comes from God. “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20:7 Some of the components God uses in winning the battle are excellent leaders, a proven strategy, and an excellent support system. God calls the leaders and gives them a vision. He enables them through His wisdom to work through a unique but proven strategy. The support system is vast and includes those who join the battle through prayer and financial support. A recent case study helps us to see the victory God is bringing about among the Maasai in Kenya and Tanzania and in the lives of young girls.
EXCELLENT LEADERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE BATTLE
ZimZam Global is privileged to work with visionary leaders like Francis Kataka. Francis’ vision is to impact an entire region and people group with the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Just to the south of where he lives are nearly one million Maasai, a beautiful yet fierce people. The Maasai raise goats, sheep, and most prized cattle. In addition to livestock, the Maasai believe having many children is a sign of wealth.
A PROVEN STRATEGY
Children are one of the key ways to reach the heart of people. This perfectly aligns with ZimZam Global’s strategy of reaching children first when establishing a new church. This strategy was something that God directed and the outcomes are significant. When you reach children, you change a community, a people group and even a nation. ZimZam Global embraces the challenge posed by the Great Commission in the 21st Century. Different than traditional church planting, ZimZam Global accelerates indigenous church planting movements across the globe by asking a question that has turned tradition upside down: “Since children are the most responsive to the Gospel, why not begin church planting with them?”
WINNING THE BATTLE FOR THE VULNERABLE
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” 2 Corinthians 10:4 The Gospel is transforming people in many ways. One of those ways is addressing the long held stronghold of selling child brides. Among some people groups like the Maasai elders, along with the Pastors, are working to protect these girls, many just 11 or 12 years old. By providing a refuge to these young girls, new churches and their leaders are living out Proverbs 31:8-9, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.”
A BATTLE THAT CROSSES THE BORDER
In Southern Kenya and across the border in Tanzania young Maasai girls are being rescued, given an education and being discipled to walk with Christ. You are part of the support system that is breaking this stronghold for these vulnerable girls. Your prayers and financial support has enabled ZimZam Global to train leaders in both of these countries and other communities in the region.
A FEW CAN WIN THE BATTLE
Your participation in this battle will help launch an exciting and aggressive new era of church planting not just for the Maasai, but also among people groups throughout Africa, Asia, and around the world.
With an Almighty God it only takes a few who have a heart like yours and it will be accomplished! Do you remember Gideon’s 300? The 300 were divided into 3 groups of 100. Being a part of one of the groups of 100 will help us make a tremendous impact.
Join the Battle
100 giving $100/month -> 200 children discipled weekly.
100 giving $50/month -> 100 children discipled weekly.
100 giving $25/month -> 50 children discipled weekly.
Not only will children be discipled, but families will be reached and the disabled will be invited. Vulnerable girls will be protected from the yoke of becoming child brides and through the transformation God brings through the Gospel.
Some prefer to give a special end of the year gift which is very helpful as we engage what is before us. Every gift, whatever amount, makes a difference in the lives of many, to the glory of God.
